Gilbert Herrera, from Walsenburg, Colorado, was a Corporal, “Light Machine Gun” squad leader in the “Weapons Platoon” of B Company, 194th Glider Infantry Regiment. He fought in the Bulge in January 1945 and landed in Germany in March 1945 during Operation Varsity. In the Bulge, with his unit, he was in the area of Houmont and took part in the January 7 attack of the Dead Man’s Ridge battle.
Gilbert Herrera, de Walsenburg, Colorado, était un caporal, leader d’un “Light Machine Gun” squad du “Weapons Platoon” de la compagnie B du 194th Glider Infantry Regiment. Il combattit dans les Ardennes en janvier 1945 et participa à l’Opération Varsity en Allemagne en mars 1945. Dans les Ardennes, avec son unité, il était dans le secteur d’Houmont et prit part à l’attaque du 7 janvier de la Bataille de la Crête de l’Homme Mort.

Richard Weaver, 1943
Richard Weaver, from Bonneauville, Pennsylvania, served in the Division Headquarters Company of the 17th Airborne Division. He fought in the Bulge in January 1945 and in Germany in March 1945 during Operation Varsity. In the summer of 1945, he was transferred to the 82nd Airborne Division and participated in the “Victory Parade” in New York City. He ended the war as Technician 3rd Grade.
Richard Weaver, de Bonneauville, Pennsylvanie, servit dans la compagnie Etat-major divisionnaire de la 17th Airborne Division. Il combattit dans les Ardennes en janvier 1945 et en Allemagne en mars 1945 pendant l’Opération Varsity. Durant l’été 1945, il fut transféré à la 82nd Airborne Division et participa à la “Victory Parade” à New York City. Il termina la guerre avec le grade de Technician 3rd Grade.
